Summary: Ripple Labs Inc., a US-based blockchain payments company, has been awarded the Best Sustainability Initiative in the Field of Advancement in Digital Currency for its work in promoting innovation in CBDC. The award was presented at the 2023 Digital Currency Conference by Currency Research.

Ripple Labs Inc., a blockchain payments company based in the United States, has received a prestigious award for its work to promote innovation in the field of central bank digital currency (CBDC).

Award from Currency Research

During the recently ended 2023 Digital Currency Conference, the CBDC Advisor for Ripple Labs, Antony Welfare, tweeted that the company had received an award from Currency Research.

According to the information disclosed by Welfare, the firm received the first award for Best Sustainability Initiative in the Field of Advancement in Digital Currency. This is a tribute to the company’s work in assisting national central banks in making a smooth and lasting transition from using fiat money to a dual model supported by both fiat and CBDC, or digital versions of national currencies.

Hardly Surprising

It’s hardly surprising that the firm won the sustainability prize; the core values of the business have always been grounded in sustainability. The Central Bank of Bhutan recognized that Ripple Labs’ sustainability mission is one of the reasons it picked the company to pilot its CBDC program, and the company has built all of its products and services on this basis.

According to Antony Welfare, the prize will encourage the firm to further invest in its CBDC team so that it can provide lasting solutions for all of its clients and collaborators.

Even in the rapidly evolving Web3.0 ecosystem, Ripple Labs maintains its status as one of the most adaptable blockchain businesses. While the company’s primary focus is on international money transfers through RippleNet and the On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) service, it is also home to a team of developers that are looking into a wide range of options utilizing the XRPL protocol.
